MEDIA MINISTRY

GMM's media ministry dates back to the 1960's. During this time we broadcast Christian programs in the Russian, Belarusian, Polish, and Ukrainian languages over shortwave radio stations located in Monte Carlo, San Francisco, Saipan, the Philippines and Portugal . Since the fall of communism we have been encouraging and assisting believers to prepare their own programs and broadcast them over their local radio stations. In the city of Ostróda, Poland , GMM assisted in establishing an evangelical Christian radio station called, Radio Mazury. This station, in addition to its community service, broadcasts many hours of Christian music and religious programs. Our Belarusian programs continue to be broadcast through the facilities of Trans World Radio. In each country of our involvement we encourage the development of a church cassette ministry. GMM assisted the Christian Churches in Poland to expand its ministry through the Internet.

Literature continues to be a powerful tool in evangelism and Christian instruction. GMM has both sponsored and printed Christian books, pamphlets and music. We purchase Bibles and literature, and have it distributed by local believers. The strength of this ministry is that it continues to have effect long past the life of any writer or of those involved in its distribution.

In recent years George Repetski assisted in the translation, editing and typesetting of the complete Bible in contemporary Belarusian. It was printed in Belarus in 2003. This is the first time that the entire Bible has become available in that language. We also work closely with local Christian writers to have their materials typeset, printed and distributed among their own people. An example of this is the printing of a Russian, illustrated, children's magazine, Krynichka, which is distributed in Belarus, Ukraine and Russia .

Most recently GMM was directly involved in providing the Polish translation of Rick Warren's book, The Purpose Driven Life, which was subsequently printed in Poland at end of 2004. It has already gone into its second printing.

GMM staff members travel regularly to the countries of Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine and Czech Republic to preach and teach the Gospel message. We also assist North American pastors and church leaders to minister with us in countries where we serve. Personal contact with believers and non-believers occupies a vital place in the missionary program of GMM.

Evangelism and new church planting is the highest goal for all of Global Missionary Ministries' endeavors. GMM works in close relationship with local believers in Poland , Belarus , Ukraine Lithuania, and Czech Republic. We assist local church leaders in establishing new churches and, whenever possible, participate in evangelistic outreach in these new locations. It is there that we preach and teach the Good News of salvation through faith and obedience to Jesus Christ.

GMM assists congregations in renovation and maintenance of their places of worship, and in providing needed supplies and equipment.

In 2004, we entered into a working relationship with a new Polish church planting endeavor called, ProEcclesia. This program was initiated and is directed by our coworker, Andrzej Bajenski.

We encourage interns and mission groups from North America and Europe to minister to each other through visitation, preaching, teaching and, where possible, helping physically in various church projects. This encourages church growth at the local level and promotes greater mission-minded activity.

Children and young people are not only the future of the Church but also a part of its present life. Believing this to be true, GMM works closely with church leaders in Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, and Ukraine, facilitating different activities for the younger generation in the churches. We help by organizing and conducting camps for children, young people and students. In the early 1970's George Bajenski, prior to immigrating to North America, was instrumental in establishing the first permanent church camp facility in the city of Ostróda , Poland . Many of today's church leaders throughout Poland are our former campers who gave their hearts to the Lord at Ostróda Camp. GMM continues to work closely with this camp, which annually reaches up to one thousand campers. In more recent years even adults are being blessed by this camp's ministry with programs designated for their age group. Under the leadership of the camp's director, Zbigniew Chojnacki, we are in the process of adapting this facility to become a year-round mission activity center for Christian Churches in Poland .

GMM initiated a very successful outreach for Jewish children from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. This attractive programs are conducted at our camp facility in Ostróda.

All countries in Central and Eastern Europe have experienced economic challenges since the demise of the Soviet Union. As they have been seeking to change from a state-supported to a free market economy, many people have been left out in the cold. Now that several of these countries have joined the European Union there is some hope for a better economic future. However, there are still many people without work who face great economical difficulties. GMM helps to alleviate poverty in needy places by providing food, clothing, and medication to those who are within reach of our ministries.

JEWISH MINISTRY

GMM was instrumental in encouraging and starting an outreach ministry to the Jewish community in Poland and neighboring countries. In 1995, our coworker, Pastor Kazik B., launched out with this needed ministry. It was the memories of his grandmother, who was an orthodox Jew, that helped motivated him to reach out to his people. In the privacy of his Warsaw apartment, Kazik, with his family and a few friends, began celebrating Shabbat. Soon it grew in attendance. Within a short period of time the facilities had to be move to the Warsaw Christian Fellowship Church . Up to 80 people attend these Shabbat meetings. Some of the participants have since recognized Yeshua as their Messiah, accepted Him as their Savior, and now in addition attend Sunday worship services.

Through this ministry we are also involved in humanitarian aid to elderly and needy Jewish people called, "the Children of the Holocaust," who live not only in Poland , but also in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia. In many of these places soup kitchens have been organized to serve needy ones. It is through this ministry that we are able to reach out to Jewish adults and children. Every year GMM brings children from Russia , Ukraine and Belarus, to Poland where they can rest and enjoy camp activities in their own cultural and Biblical environment.

Kazik is also a frequent speaker at conferences for pastors and church leaders where Bible teaching concerning Israel , and our Christian responsibility toward the Jews, is taught.
